NOTE: This is just a scratch space created by @qtzl3000 to work on the updated Glossary/Structure page. Previous version of this article can be found at Glossary dump.

Main ideas:

I imagine this as a gateway article pointing to Glossaries (basic/expert/etc) rather than the actual Glossary (list of words) because we don't want to update it manually. Add key references to Categories e.g. "Category:Glossary - Basic", "Category:Glossary - Expert", etc. Those will auto-fill with articles based on Article Categories. No manual work required! We can have other cats like "Category:Levels" etc. Think about it like a museum/office building directory Have a section listing terms that we don't have articles for yet (but want to make sure they aren't lost/forgotten).

I'll need to sort out the current Glossary article terms and structure it properly, plus suggest new categories where it makes sense.

Me and soulfy tried to make talks for the glossary, actually 2 talks happend. None was eager to participate, like pushed or aksed about when talks are etc. Idk why we talk here instead of using trello or discord. How many places do we want to put info and collect opinions. Dividing discussions and suggestions between 3 or mor platforms doesnt make it easier. I guess you are maybe not up-to-date about what was talked already...

Currecnt dump glossary article: i thought paleo started working on that. So so may (and i highly recommend that) want to talk with him about his plans, before you interfere with him maybe. Just.. for good teamwork? ok? Think together, whats the best options for this article.

Hey, don't stress it was made in July! check page history)) I'm flat-out at work at the moment so barely have time to check Recent Changes, I didn't do anything with this page since July... Qtzl3000 (talk) 13:36, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

My mistake, sorry! somehow this page was open and i thought it was something recent! its such a long term topic, though we recently had a talk and made some more decisions.

I think finally the forum-glossary term work will come to an end (soon). YAS!!! took only some years :D

old talk[]

I ended up removing the term "F1-5" because I wanted to confirm that it was actually short for "1st-5th mural." I mean... it seems a bit odd to me: Why "F" and not "M" (mural), "G" (glyph), "P" (picture/painting), or "T" (tapestry)? I mean, we can add it back in, easily. I just wanted to make sure because it didn't seem to fit. ^_^; Cyanis (talk) 02:50, 11 September 2019 (UTC)

This is a general thing that causes problems: you seem to like to "shoot/do/make" first and THEN ask questions. You ask about the names of ancestors and if there is no answer in some hours, you think its ok to just create your own names and somehow try to make them "community names". but no one agreed on them or gave an opinion.

I dont know, do you really think this is ok? Arent we a community of Journey lovers? Can i name the top of mountain in paradise "ravings asscheeks"? or wait .. i think i ll just do it and hope no one will recognise so it will be there forever and newcomers will think its an offical community term!

Same with the categories in the past, we actually said we will talk about them to reach consense and THEN redo if neccesary.

You tried to tell us "it says be bold, so i guess i will be bold", this was your sole decision, not teamwork. Especially when there IS at least one other person on the wiki thats pretty active. I hope you can understand this. Also i am pretty sure "being bold" refers to creating content, maybe linking pages to each other, but not refurbishing the wiki in your style without telling anyone about your plans. Do that, if you create a wiki from scratch please, then you will have all the freedom you want.

Maybe you could readup a bit on whats common curtesy on a wiki, what are considered small edits and "big edits". The time you were in the wiki crew channel and that time and after too you gave us links about rules and guides. Maybe you didnt read, that you should have waited 3(!!) days before a block, to give that other person time to answer.

Also i asked and begged at start, to listen to me: What did I do so far on the wiki, why does the cat-tree look like that, where does my info come from, how do I handle "taking info from the discord, images from discord users etc.". And again you just wanted to do, then you did. I dotn want to get into this again.

So here is whats the basis of the "glossary" and many other things on the wiki. I asked and got the allowance from aravshetikolava who did the work first and created a list of terms that we use, so that newcomers are not too confused by them. Thank you for not listening right from the start.. ahem :( http://thatgamecompanyfan.boards.net/thread/13/glossary And since you were not here when the wiki started, also thinking that the game was only on PC (just to add to you questioning expertise): http://thatgamecompanyfan.boards.net/thread/52/journey-wiki

This is some talk we had, when we started planning a wiki. There was also some talk on discord ofc.

Apologies for the slight rant. I will try to look over the changes today and tomorrow. _ Most of it _ is real great work, adding those cute spoiler and under construction pictures also adds to the charm of the wiki, beside all those crosslinks and linking to main pages and also doing them. I really appreciate that part!! Thank you for taking time to do this (with me, because it seems we are rather alone here).

forgot to add my signature yesterday, it seems :(

I d say once you say, that the glossary page is done i ll crossread. Was about to ask discord about the disko stuff. But i think it can wait a bit too.

disko afaik the disko WM is only PS versions. but i saw a disko WM only once and no clue how to reproduce. the disko wayfarer is PC only (there might be slight color flickering on the PS4? i may have seen 1 sec of colorflicker on ps3. personal opionion: pc players traded the skypainting for the disko wayfarer.

Needs varification if the disko zones are the same places, just with different outcomes. On a recent j. with retro, he told me you need to trigger the disko wayfarer. i need to investigate. Not having many pc journeys yet. Seems its not just a place, but a place you have to fly to in a certain way/path.
