IF glitch report (PC Steam) SteamUser Tartopum
I first asked about what had happened on Steam and was told about the IF glitch
Before the glitch : The last time i played with a companion i lost them in Paradise level. I am not sure what happened but chances are that we went too far away from each other and could'nt meet again. After loosing them i went to explore and eventually fell OOB near Jellyfish pool and had to go to chapter select because i could not find my way back. Since then i had played alone (in CS and maybe other levels) at least one time before the IF glitch happened
Yesterday (22 jan) i decided to do some tests alone and disconnected from internet while in the menu, then went to CS
After a few tests i re-connected and went to Pink Desert (not sure if i re-connected before or just after entering PD)
I started walking/flying around and saw what looked like an other wayfarer far away but didn't try to follow them. When i reached the first cloth place (the one in front of the entrance) i sudenly discovered that i was not alone any more.
What was weird was that the other wayfarer(white robe too) was always standing very close to me doing exactly the same movements i was doing at the exact same time. In fact it was so much the same that i thought it was an other "me".
Chirping showed two different symbols and the two of me where constantly charging each other (infinite flight !) so i thought it was not only a graphic bug but realy a double instance thing.
An other strange thing was that "we" were constantly sliding slowly even when seated unless there was something (like a wall) to block the way. The sliding direction was not always the same but it didn't seem to change until i moved.
While flying, moving forward without pressing the fly key was keeping me at the same altitude. Trying to fly Up showed several maximum altitude levels depending on where i started from. If i started from a high dune i could not go further up but i was able to fly directly to the ending place at the highest tower wich is about the same altitude. If i started from the ground near the towers i was not able to fly to the top but had to take the same intermediate steps i usually have to take, even requiring the help from the carpets at some point.
After entering the light circle for the vision, the constant sliding made me reach the edge of the circle before i could seat and i entered a constant walking loop which i could escape only by exiting to CS
In CS i had lost my twin but i went to PD again and they were back so "we" went through the following levels beeing carefull to enter the light circles so the sliding doesn't go "against" the walk and that was all fun (went OOB in Sunken city after the big jump but i did not explore very far because i was afraid not to be able to return) until i was stuck walking in the light circle again on top of the Tower level and had to exit to CS where i was alone. After that i went to Snow and Pink Desert levels but could not find my twin. Know, after some sleep, i think that i should have gone to Tower again, where i lost them, but it was 3am so i have an excuse !
Infinite Flight (IF) glitch report[]

I first got the glitch a few weeks ago while playing as a red robe. I got it accidentally and didn’t know what it was then, so I reported it on steam - [1] I’ve since looked into it a bit more, and recently wanted to try and get the glitch again by recreating the conditions under which I got it the first time.
So today, I tried to reproduce the glitch in five attempts, four of which were successful. Here’s what I did: Logged into Steam online, went offline before starting the game, launched the game without internet, entered the Broken Bridge level, and while the starting cutscene was playing, connected to the internet. Upon entering the level, immediately completed the first part of the bridge, and ran in the direction of the southwest glowing symbol as it was being built, and the glitch appeared immediately after that.
After the fifth attempt, I wanted to try and play through the game to see if I could keep the glitch and how it would behave. I was able to go through the entire game without losing the glitch, and finish it without any issues (i.e. getting stuck in light circles)
I was able to quit to the main menu and then re-enter the same level without losing the glitch (this was tested in all levels except Broken Bridge and Pink Desert) Though sometimes upon entering the level, my "twin" appeared sitting down, while the other character entered the level as normal.
I was also able to enter and explore the OOB areas in the Sunken City, Underground and Snow without any problems.

The twin appeared in the Broken Bridge level. For ravingmadness the game got stuck, upon entering the PD HL.

A dusting Companion in UG in September 2020. After the dust, the twin appeared and he was even able to finish the game.

"... they were also slightly inside each other and were pushing me around. This happened in sunken city and my internet was on. Another thing that happened was when I entered the circle to start the history lesson both journeyers didn't sit down and instead were in an infinite loop of running on the spot. I have no idea why this happened. I was editing the save file before but after restarting journey and using the same save file the glitch didn't happen again so I can confidently rule that out"

"The twin appeared after a red cloak i helped cross the broken bridge went to the history lesson and i stayed behind to practice fancy flying. They went to the history lesson and the twin appeared soon after. The twin had the same symbol as the red cloak companion. At first i thought i had two scarves and i was really confused lol. Game didn't crash from hitting the crash zone in OOB, it froze and crashed while I was taking a screenshot. The glitch was making the game behave really unstable and laggy at times so a crash seemed like it was bound to happen. (Note: White Robe IF)"

"Double me ? '(IF glitch)
I was in pink desert wearing my (freshly earned) white robe and after reaching the first "cloth" i discovered that i was not alone any more. "I got that glitch again tonight! That time it happened in Broken Bridge and i went up to the end of paradise with my twin. Sadly i was unable to go through the very end because my wayfarer didn't want to go further just before the moment everything fades to white but i verified the save file and the last person i traveled with was ... myself !"
"More details about my second IF (23 jan):
Following my previous encounter with IF i decided to do some more tests connecting/disconnecting while entering various levels from CS. After some unsuccessfull tries i entered BB while connected and at first i was alone but my twin suddenly appeared while i was reaching the first symbol. From that point "we" went through the whole journey up to the end of Paradise where my wayfarer couldn't do the two last steps in the end canyon before your figures fade to white.
Sliding : During the whole journey we were constantly sliding/drifting slowly like during the previous time. I was very carefull to move away from the light circles while triggering them and to enter them so the sliding would push me into the circle in order not to get caught in the "endless walking loop". I think that the sliding was what prevented me to reach the very end because its direction was opposite to where i was supposed to go (if i stopped to move forward i was sliding backward) and at that point my wayfarer was slowing down more and more up to the point where he wasn't able to go further and i had to exit to CS.
Companion list : Because of the "can't go further" thing i was unable to reach the Companion List at that time but opening the save.bin file showed that my last companion's name was my own name. The following day i restarted from the last save ("continue" or something like that from the main menu) and because i hadn't played since my twin journey i was able to go (alone) through the Snow and Paradise Levels and reach the Companion List (see picture) that showed my own name as last companion plus two other sybols without names (maybe some people i accenditaly met while doing my connect/disconnect tests)
OOB : During the Snow level i went OOB from the heater room (as far as i can tell i went through the roof) and eventually returned to normal but my twin was still stuck OOB. I couldn't see him through the walls but the chirping buble was apparent. Problem was that while we were not close enough anymore the Infinite Flight was gone and without it i was not able to fly to the place where i thought the OOB started to reach my twin and see if i could get him inside again. After some time i eventually went away from the heater room and the twin suddenly popped next to me (big relief !)"

"(Steam) I started a new game with turned off wifi and was playing as usual. I was practicing alone in the PD quite a long time, and then I turned on wifi in the middle of History Lesson. I was sitting for a while after HL, and when I suddenly started to do Slow Boost towards the next stage, the strange things started to happen... The carpet caught me and there was a specific "warping" sound, my white cloak became red for a split second. I thought I get a red-robbed companion, but I was carried away alone (it was Nick, as it became clear later). In the SC I have seen that I'm not alone anymore, the white companion is riding the carpet next to me. And then he merged with me and everything became clear, it was IF.
This glitch remained with me to the very end. We have stuck a little in the UG HL circle. The funny situation I had at the end just before leaving the Mountain into the white infinity. My twin became ahead of me and refused to let me out. I had to go back a little and overtake him, so we walked twice as fast, because he was cheerfully pushing me in my back, and we finished the game successfully.
Also in the UG and the Tower I was trying to connect with my friend, with whom I always connect incredibly easy. But not in that case!
After my report on discord nathanj has tryed to repeat all these actions and he was succeed in getting IF! After that there were several more successful attempts to reproduce this glitch by other members of community, I also had it several times again."
